Check-Out: 11am

If you need more time, let me know and I’ll check the calendar. :-)

Parking: Please park in our driveway.

Entry: Your entry code will be sent to you the morning of your stay. Enter the code and then the check “✔️” in the lower left of the keypad. The door locks automatically after 30 minutes and the lock will make a chime sound when locking. If you have a lucky number or maybe a birthday date, let me know and I can make that your entry code number. 🙂

Early Arrival TipIf you arrive in Traverse City, after 11am on your Check-in day and before 3pm, feel free to park in our driveway. I can let you know when the cleaners are finished.  From the house you are an easy walk to the Tart Trail and many great places to grab something to eat. Apache Trout is a great place to grab a beer and relax outside. Glendale is a just quick walk and they are famous for their 'smash' burgers. If you rather ride than walk, TC eBikes is located on Carter Rd, 0.25 mi from the house, they offer golf carts and eBike rentals.
Notes to help you have your best experience at our home.

*Save valuable time by having your groceries delivered to the house and directly into the fridge before you arrive or while you are out by our friends at Stocked!

Lights:
It’s not necessary to turn off lights individually or with the switch on the lamps. The wall light switches will control all the lights.  The house is also a Smart Home.  Simply Say  "Alexa, turn on all lights 100%" "Alexa, turn off all lights" Alexa, turn on/off (outside lights) (bathroom) (bedroom)"  Note: some lights have a nightlight setting and do not turn off completely, including bathroom and kitchen sink.

WiFi Login:
Network Name: prettyflyforawifi
Password: giveittomebaby

(we're a fan of the 90's band The Offspring sorry...)

The charter internet service is glitchy, if you have wifi but no internet, reset router with the plug located by the laundry downstairs.  Let me know if you have any questions, it's a known issue.

TV Assistance: Use the remote for most operations on the TV. Netflix, Hulu and Prime are provided. To access press the “Netflix” button on the remote. Feel free to login to your own accounts, but remember to log yourself out!

TART Trail and e-bikes: TC eBikes is located on Carter Rd within walking distance. The TART Trail is also .25 miles from the house also on Carter Rd.

Security & Privacy:  Your privacy is important to us.  We own other property in the cul-de-sac, so we are nearby but we will not be on the property during your stay. The cameras are for our protection and only located at exterior entrance/exits. The neighborhood is safe, but I would suggest locking the doors of your car. If you prefer not to use Alexa you can simply unplug them. If the Alexa turns yellow, it's suggesting I add something to a shopping list, simply ask “Alexa what’s my notification” and this will clear the yellow notification light.

Quiet Hours: We just ask that you please respect our neighbors. Quiet hours are from 10 pm - 7 am. Have fun and enjoy, but do so respectfully :)

Trash & Recycling: Please use both bins in our kitchen, if you have more trash a bin is located downstairs. We strongly support recycling, unfortunately, we can not provide recycling services on behalf of our guests.  The nearest recycling center is E Cherry Bend Rd, 1.6 mi, Tom's West Bay will except can returns. Please take your recycling with you when you leave.

Drinking Water: Our home is on a well, the tap well water is not unhealthy but it does not taste good.  Drinking water, reverse osmosis filtered, is to the right of the kitchen sink, please reuse the 3-liter plastic water bottles, placing the water bottle under the tap in the sink to avoid the risk of water damage from overfilling. Coffee: We have a coffee maker and grinder, allowing both a hot water pour and a standard pot of coffee.

Kitchen: Cooking oils, spices, salt and pepper can be found in the cupboards. The kitchen has all the basic cooking supplies, IF YOU NEED ANYTHING, just let me know. We cook everyday, we have everything a gourmet chef would need 👨‍🍳 The butcher block countertops cannot be cut on or be used for food prep. Please use the cutting board or glass prep boards above the refrigerator. Cooking and kitchen supplies available by request: Keurig, Electric griddle, Griddle for center burner on the stove, Zyliss prep chopper, Strainers, Pyrex baking dishes, Cast iron pans, Tea kettle, Omelet egg pans, Plastic and glass containers, Air popcorn popper, Vegetable steamer, Juicer small, Garlic peeler and press, Hand mixer, Blender, Mandoline slicer

Pillows & Blankets: Extra pillows and blankets can be found in the closets of each bedroom. Bedding for the downstairs couch and inflatable bed are inside the black couch.

White Noise/Speakers: We provide Alexa speakers in every bedroom and living room, "Alexa, play white noise" or "Alexa, play the station meditation"
Alexa can also be connected via Bluetooth, “Alexa, connect my phone”.

Music and Bluetooth: We provide Alexa speakers and Pandora radio is available. “Alexa, play (band or music genre) on Pandora radio”. Alexa can also be connected via Bluetooth, “Alexa, connect my phone”. You can also connect to the upstairs TV & sound bar via Bluetooth. Open the Settings menu on the TV. Navigate to General. Select External Device Manager. Select Input Device Manager. Select Bluetooth Device list. Set your Bluetooth device to begin actively pairing... Select the device you wish to pair... Select Pair and connect.

Beach Towels, Toys & Coolers: In the entryway closet is everything you’ll need for a beach day including multiple coolers, soft side bags for food and drinks, towels, snorkel gear, camping chairs, and toys for kids.  Favorite Beaches:  1) Maple Bay Natural Area on East Bay 2) Haserot Beach in Old Mission 3) Good Harbor 4) Port Oneida Beach.  The easiest beach is a simple walk down to West Bay. If you plan to snorkel you can find a few deep blue water holes on google maps near the shore across Grandview Pkwy from Spruce St. This is from a Navy marina during WWII.  These holes have lots of fish, the snorkeling around the rocks near the Clinch Park boat ramp is good too.

SUPs and Boating: TC Paddle, offers kayaks & SUPs by the hour ($30) or for the day ($100).  If you’re on the south side of West Bay near TC (Clinch, West End, Harbor Park, Boardman River) let me know and if I have SUP boards available, I’ll rent them to you for 1/2 off.  Boating on West Bay, we live on a Trawler-style boat during the summer, let me know if you’d like to get on the water. Pontoons, jet skis, and power boats are available for rent. The Nauticat is a great option and the tall ship Manitou is also popular. Generally, if you want to get on the water let me know ;-)

Laundry: The laundry is downstairs. An ironing board, iron, and fabric steamer can also be found downstairs. If your group would like a professional fabric streamer just let me know.

Pull-out couch and inflatable bed in the downstairs bedroom: The couch in the downstairs bedroom is a pull-out that will sleep two. Sheets, blankets, and pillows for this can be found inside the black couch. An inflatable bed is also located in the downstairs bedroom.

A/C: We’re located halfway to the North Pole, generally the nights are cool and A/C isn’t needed.  If you happen to stay during a heatwave, we do have two portable A/C units upstairs.  Both can exhaust out of the bedroom windows.  If you need these portable units setup, just let me know. Generally, the downstairs stays cool, if needed, a window A/C unit is located next to the laundry. Three fans are also available. Update: We ordered a central ‘split unit’, unfortunately it can’t be installed until after Labor Day weekend.

Dogs: please clean up after your dog, extra bags are in the entryway.  Dog waste can be put in the trash can behind the garage. If your dog has an accident, cleaning supplies are in the entryway.  Let me know if the accident is on carpet so I can clean with the carpet shampoo machine, accidents happen it’s not a big deal. If needed, a hose is located next to the grill on the deck. In the downstairs shower is puppy shampoo.  We provide a fence for the deck, a fence for the stairs, and a medium size kennel in the entryway. Oh and extra treats are in the entryway too 🐶🦴

Dog Friendly: The closest dog park is located near the corner of N Division & W Grandview Pkwy.  The closes dog friendly trail is Hickory Meadows North Trailhead on M72, it’s within walking distance through the Morgan Farms neighborhood. The best beach for a dog is located on West Bay just west of the Boardman river (unofficial dog beach) park at Clinch Marina walk east towards the river.  The Little Fleet is the best dog friendly place for food.  Other dog friendly spots include The Filling Station, Rare Bird Patio, Slab Town Burgers patio, Brady’s Bar patio, Town Plaza, and any patio in the Commons.

The Cat: The orange tabby barn cat is named Ginger, ‘the boy named Ginger’, he is our resident mouser and spends most of his time in the heated shop behind the garage or the barn next door.  He’s very friendly, treats and food are located in the entryway, feel free to feed him. He is a little wild and will turn anything in the a scratching post, so please keep him outside.

Transportation: Don’t drink and drive, the police are out in force during the summer months and the penalties are harsh!  Uber  & Lyft are worth a try but they are generally unreliable. THE BEST! Jake Pino. Call or text him directly (231) 218-0562. The Craziest! Malachy’s Car Trek Karaoke Cab. Cartrek.com  (231)620-2240. John “JD” (231) 360-1394. TC Taxi (231)944-8325, Odawa (231)946-2222, About Time (231)733-0709, Cherry Capital (231)941-8294, Knight (231)429-6173, J Cole (231)360-1339, Up North (231)499-0269, GT Rides (231)620-4815, Big Chef (231)392-2509, My Taxi (231)409-5776, Ricky (231)715-0034. Off The Traxx street food is open Tue - Sun until 3:00 am. Howard’s Hot Dog is sometime open late next to Union Street Station.

Medical Emergency:  9-5 M-F, urgent care offices are best. Munson’s ER is the only 24 hour urgent care.  Unfortunately, the ER is understaffed and average wait times can be 8 hours.  PLEASE CONTACT ME if you need after hours medical care! I have family at Munson who can provide you with the wait times for area urgent cares and ERs or offer other suggestions…
